Another week where words are very reluctant. I made some notes on a fic and have been dreaming about another (literally dreaming — I’ve been watching Unsolved Mysteries, and I dreamt that an episode featuring my WIPs aired, the mystery being “when will these stories be finished?”), but nothing has been finished.

It’s incredibly frustrating, because I’m done with school for the year, and I want to read and write, but I’m too anxious and wound up. The “good” thing about this is that I recognize this sort of emotional pattern, and I know it’s one I’ll get out of eventually. Now that I don’t have to teach, I’ll have a little time to rest. I signed up for an online class, which will count toward the credits I need to renew my teaching license in a few years, but it isn’t going to be very strenuous.

Until I manage to get out of this creative trough, I’m getting a lot of crochet done. It helps a lot because even if I’m not producing what I want with regards to writing, I’m still making things.

This is what I’ve made in the last couple weeks.

A market tote/shopping bag I made for my ayi. I used a Caron Cotton Cake that my sis in law got me for my birthday last year.

A mermaid scale tote. The original pattern used a variegated yarn that made the scale pattern more apparent, but I used Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend because it feels really nice.

A potholder made with leftover from the Caron cake. This is a super easy pattern, one of my fave mindless crafts.

And my Nie Huaisang wrap — Nie sect colors from the donghua and a fan ripple pattern. I’m using Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball for this.
