The End (of the School Year) is Nigh!
Jun. 5th, 2022 09:56 pmOKAY! Functionally, we have 5 more days of school left, although Friday will have all sorts of nonsense. After this week, we have a week of mandatory (for me) FUNTIVITIES, and then I have the weekend to finish packing and GTFO out BLR!
I had an encouraging interview with a school in Taiwan today (that I am not interested solely because I want to be in the world where Trapped 3 took place, nope, not at all). The job sounds challenging, but in a good way. I'd have a lot of freedom to pick how to chart my class course (YAY) but a lot of scrutiny from the head of the school (EEK). The man who interviewed me is the English department head, and he seems like a person who would go to bat for me and support me if I'm doing all I can on my end (YAY), but I would also have 4-5 "preps" -- different subjects I would teach throughout the day (EEK, but also what I have done for the last two years). I'm trying not to get too excited, lest I invite tragedy by wanting it too much. But I'm also looking through all the resources I've gathered over the last few years to get some ideas.
It's a lot, and I think that things will move quickly if I get the job. I will miss seeing my mom for most of the summer because she's going on a long-awaited trip in July (YAY for her, EEK for me) and I will miss my family in general, but that's not really new.
WHEW. I'm still not sure what I want most to happen, but at least I have a few things I'm excited about.
